UNDERWATER EXHIBITION
In the “Underwater Skellig” theme of the Skellig Experience
Centre, a permanent exhibition of the still photographs of visiting
Skellig divers – local and international – will promptly dispel the
widespread impression that underwater colour and variety belong only
in the tropics!
From
Skellig waters, see the steel blue of the Conger eel, the brilliant
orange of Cup coral, the multi-hued mauves of the Dahlia anemone and
the milky transparency of the Compass jellyfish.
In our Underwater Skellig video from the camera of Mara and Daniele
Iop of Italy, view the ballerina-like grace of Skelligs’ Grey seals,
as they weave their way among the kelp fronds, always peering with a
wide-eyed curiosity at the divers who daily visit this virtual ‘seal
garden’ on the underwater cliffs of Small Skellig.
Admire
the adaptability of the Crawfish’s ponderous crawling gait - which can
be transformed into a lightening burst of reverse speed if danger
looms!
Note the appetizing ‘fishing rod’ which dangles from the Angler fish’s
nose, designed to lure unsuspecting prey into its huge mouth!
And you haven’t even got your feet wet!
